Valves are explosion-proof
Article Abstract:
Springer co-ax has developed explosion-proof valves. They have received approval for use in hazardous locations from North American and European agencies. The valves are available as direct acting solenoid in 2/2-way shut-off and 3/2-way diverter versions, with nominal orrifice sizes 2 to 50 mm, or externally controlled in 2/2- and 3/2-way versions, with nominal orifice sizes 10 to 250 mm. They operate from vacuum to 500 bar and are designed to outlast and outperform conventional valves.

It has a highly polished 316 stainless-steel housing and disc and features a design that provides a better seal by utilizing air pressure to expand the seat against the disc. The company claims that the disc can come to a perfect 90-degree position every time.
