Bottled water: understanding a social phenomenon
Article Abstract:
An overview is presented on the bottled water market, specifically whether bottled water is safer than tap water, and the environmental impact of its production and consumption. The author posits that while bottled water is a more healthful alternative to some other beverages, it may not be as stringently monitored as tap water, and the plastics involved in its production and marketing make it a less environmentally friendly product than tap water.
