Can parasites synchronise the population fluctuations of sympatric tetraonids?-examining some minimum conditions
Article Abstract:
A study aims to explore whether parasites could play a role in generating synchronous density fluctuations in two sympatric host species. Findings reveal that rock ptarmigan and willow ptarmigan showed correlated density and growth rate fluctuations within sites and between sites in close proximity.

Are indirect measures of abundance a useful index of population density? the case of red grouse harvesting
Article Abstract:
The extent of reflection by harvest data of changes in population density of the red grouse Lagopus lagopus scoticus in Great Britain is investigated. Red grouse hunting time series are a good proxy for population abundance.

What determines the foraging distribution of raptors on heather moorland?
Article Abstract:
Raptor foraging is investigated over a period of five years (1992-1996). Foraging theory predicts that mobile predators, such as raptors, hunt in patches yielding the greatest energy gain.
