Characteristics of state agricultural pesticide collection programs
Article Abstract:
An analysis of efforts by US states to dispose of unwanted pesticides indicates that pesticide collection initiatives can address a significant environmental concern. However, it is necessary to adopt a cautious and pragmatic approach, as there are many difficulties associated with pesticide disposal.

Agricultural abandonment in mountain areas of Europe: Environmental consequences and policy response
Article Abstract:
The effects of new technology and agricultural policy on remote farming areas is examined with reference to desertion of mountain areas in Europe. Government intervention will be necessary to stave off further abandonment and reduce environmental impact.
