Context and connectivity in plant metapopulations and landscape mosaics: does the matrix matter?
Article Abstract:
Evidence supporting a general integration of metpopulation and landscape ecological approaches, emphasizing notions connectivity and context, are described. The functional landscape mosaic approach that treats the structural and functional features of the landscape and demonstrates their interaction is discussed.

A multivariate model of plant species richness in forested systems: Old-growth montane forests with a long history of fire
Article Abstract:
Structural equation modeling is employed in order to examine the relationship of understory vascular plant species richness to understory abundance, forest structure, topographic slope. The results show how multivariate models of herbaceous richness could be expanded to apply to forested systems.

Physiological and reproductive differences between hermaphrodites and males in the androdioecious plant Fraxinus ornus
Article Abstract:
The rare reproductive system of androdioecy, the co-occurrence of males and hermaphrodites in a breeding population is studied. Studies indicate that the males produced 1.6 times more inflorescences that hermaphrodites.
