Controlling Rhodododendron ponticum in the British Isles: an economic analysis
Article Abstract:
A study is presented based on a survey of nature conservation and forestry authorities, wildlife trusts and private landowner which investigated the extent of the ecological and economic impacts of the invasive nonnative plant Rhododendron ponticum in the British Isles. The results suggests that a socially optimal level of control efforts requires a significant increase in social funding for R. ponticum control, although the size of the increase varies between landholders.

The economic value of controlling an invasive shrub
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that control of tamarisk, a non-native woody shrub from Eurasia, could improve biotic processes within America's semi-arid regions in as little as 17 years. Tamarisk raises river-channel sedimentation, which increases flood damage severity, and has a higher level of water consumption than native vegetation, which can deplete water-table resources.

Matrix model investigation of invasive species control: Bullfrogs on Vancouver Island
Article Abstract:
Demography of four populations of southern Vancouver Island, Canada is studied using field observations and capture-mark-recapture methods to estimate survival, growth and fecundity. It is found that demographic information can be used to maximize the efficacy to control efforts.
