Cost of strepsipteran macroparasitism for immature wasps: Does sociality modulate virulence?
Article Abstract:
Immature social wasps Polistes dominulus was artificially infected with the strepsipteran parasite, Xenos vesparum Rossi, in order to examine levels of virulence. Results reveal that there was no difference in virulence between infected and uninfected individuals for the seven days following infection, either measured as host mortality or mass loss.

Benefits and costs of floral visitors to Chilopsis linearis: pollen depostion and stigma closure
Article Abstract:
The costs and benefits of floral visitors to Chilopsis linearis (desert willow) were compared by number of pollen grains deposited and their effect on stigmas. It is reported that Chilopsis had sensitive stigmas that closed immediately upon touch and sometimes reopened later.

Non-pollinating wasps distort the sex ration of pollinating fig wasps
Article Abstract:
The effect of non-pollinating fig wasps on the sex ratio of a fig wasp species that pollinates Ficus citrifolia in Brazil is examined. Results reveal that non-pollinating wasps had a direct effect in distorting the sex ration of Pegoscapus tonduzi broods.
