Diversity effects in reproductive biology
Article Abstract:
Innovative ideas and experimental designs benefit the analysis of potential effects of multiple paternity and multiple maternity on reproductive success in animals and plants. Sampling and complementarity mechanisms explain the linear increase in biomass production with the logarithm of species richness.

Effects of intraspecific competition on size variation and reproductive allocation in a clonal plant
Article Abstract:
Research on Ranunculus reptans, a clonal herb, shows that allocation to vegetative reproduction shifts to sexual reproduction with increasing density. Thus, intraspecific competition plays a key role in R. reptans evolutionary processes, as it affects selection and genetic drift within the population.

Three generations under low versus high neighborhood density affect the life history of a clonal plant through differential selection and genetic drift
Article Abstract:
A study demonstrates that a clonal plant can respond to selection imposed by neighborhood density. Moreover, it shows that the effect of random genetic drift increases with decreasing neighborhood density.
