Flexible life history responses to flower and rosette bud removal in three perennial herbs
Article Abstract:
The response of continuous removal of either flower buds or rosette buds in perennial grassland species that differed in longevity and flowering type is investigated. The probability of linking the response of these species to inflicted damage to their longevity and developmental constraints is discussed.

Dual role of harvesting ants as seed predators and dispersers of a non-myrmechorous Mediterranean perennial herb
Article Abstract:
The predation-dispersal relationship between seed-harvesting ants and the seeds of Lobularia maritima, a non-myrmechorous perennial herb is analyzed. Studies reveal that harvesting ants collect more than 85% of the seeds, while 70% of them are lost in predation.

Recruitment rates exhibit high elasticity and high temporal variation in populations of a short-lived perennial herb
Article Abstract:
The effects of changes in environmental conditions on the relationship between elasticity of vital rates and their temporal variation are investigated. The potential representation of a characteristic life-history strategy by the vital rates is examined.
