Forest soil acidification: monitoring on the regional scale, Varmland, Sweden
Article Abstract:
Forest soil surveys in Varmland, Sweden, indicate a rise in acidification in certain regions. Using data obtained from 180 survey sites, researchers examined total soil composition, soil solution at different depths and exchangeable pool composition resulting from centrifuge drainage testing. Acidification was found in southern sites but not in northern ones.

Recent mild and wet years in relation to long observation records and future climate change in Sweden
Article Abstract:
Long-term instrumental observations are reviewed to study whether or not the recent climate conditions in Sweden are consistent with those projected by the climate scenarios. The analysis reveals that the difference between precipitation and runoff has increased continuously during the 20th century.
