Heterogeneous photocatalysed degradation of a herbicide derivative, isoproturon in aqueous suspension of titanium dioxide
Article Abstract:
Heterogeneous photocatalysed degradation of a herbicide derivative, N-(-4-isopropylphenyl)-N, N-dimethylurea was investigated in aqueous suspensions of titanium dioxide by monitoring the change in absorption intensity and depletion in total organic carbon content as a function of irradiation time. The photocatalyst Degussa P25 was found to be more efficient as compared with other photocatalysts.

Prolonged herbicide-induced vegetation changes in a regenerating boreal aspen clearcut
Article Abstract:
A soil-active herbicide, hexazinone is applied to a 3-year-old regenerating boreal Populus tremuloides Michx., aspen clearcut to determine its effect on the composition and structural development of the vegetation. The result suggests that considerable research is needed to evaluate the long-term effects of using herbicides in boreal forests at both the plant community and landscape level.

Effects of pH and cyclodextrins on pentachlorophenol degradation (mineralization) by white-rot fungi
Article Abstract:
The use of Trametes hirsuta to mineralize pentachlorophenol concentration (PCP) through biorememediation is emphasized. The effect of cyclodextrins on PCP concentration is highlighted.
