Habitat-mediated predation risk and decision making of small birds at forest edges
Article Abstract:
Research is presented on the behavior of four members of the Parus forest bird species to predation risk, examining predation pressure, visibility, flock size and spatial variation. Findings show that forest birds are not able to use fragmented habitats through fine-grained behavior, indicating that fragmented habitats could have a significant negative effect on forest bird reproduction and population dynamics.

Metapopulation processes and persistence in remnant water vole populations
Article Abstract:
Research on water vole populations highlights the importance of regional population processes and predation rates in forming wildlife conservation policies. The authors posit that these factors should be addressed first, prior to considering habitat quality.
