Integrated soil analysis: a Swedish research project
Article Abstract:
Sweden's 1993 Integrated Soil Analysis research project was established to evaluate the impacts human culture has on soil ecology. The project's goals were to validate laboratory tests, improve laboratory tests and develop a scheme for evaluating the tests. The impact humans are having on soil through airborne pollutants and agrochemicals has threatened soil processes and organisms.

Release of alien populations in Sweden
Article Abstract:
Biological diversity can be seriously threatened not only by the introduction of alien species including entities below species level but also by the release of non-local populations of native species. The risks and problems connected with the release of alien populations need urgent addressing and hence recommendations are provided on how best to initiate the required action.

Genetic population structure of fishes: Implications for coastal zone management
Article Abstract:
Genetic population structure is referred as a pattern for distribution of genetic variation within and between populations. Some key aspects of genetic population structure in the context of identifying biological units suggesting three basic types of structuring including distinct populations, continuous change, and no differentiation are discussed.
