Light dependent shift in the anti-predator response of a pyralid moth
Article Abstract:
The flexibility in the defensive strategy of the male small china-mark moth Cataclysta lemnata (Pyralidae) is demonstrated. The potential of the moth to switch between defensive strategies due to the predator regime shift from insectivorous birds to bats in the evening is investigated.

Foraging and mate-finding in the silver Y moth, Autographa gamma (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) under the risk of predation
Article Abstract:
The effect of auditory cues mimicking their bat predators in the olfactory-mediated foraging and mate-seeking behaviors in the silver Y moths, Autographa gamma, is described. The trade-off between olfactory and acoustic cues is independent of the type of odour.

The odour makes the difference: male moths attracted by sex pheromones ignore the threat by predatory bats
Article Abstract:
The male's response to the increased predation risk is dependent on the relative quality of the pheromone signal. Few ultrasound-exposed males are able to locate the pheromone source when flying in odour plumes of low quality.
