Local participation, international politics, and the environment: The World Bank and the Grenada Dove
Article Abstract:
The article examines the formation of environmental policy, using as an example the designation of waste disposal sites and protection of Grenada Dove habitat in the Caribbean nation of Grenada. It was found that optimum policy-making for both goals relies on input from a wider range of stakeholders than are commonly incorporated, and on the allowance for and experience derived from unexpected contingencies.

Integrating water-quality management and land-use planning in a watershed context
Article Abstract:
The article examines spatial relationships between water quality and land-use practices in Ohio's Little Miami River watershed. Research shows that lower water quality is linked to river regions that are downstream from areas with high levels of human impact. The author recommends improving stakeholder education on land-water relationships to foster sustainable watershed management.

A comparison of sustainability theory with UK and European airports policy and practice
Article Abstract:
Practical application of sustainable development theory is investigated using airport management policies of the United Kingdom and Europe as examples. Comparisons suggest that while airport policies support the mitigation of the environmental impacts of airports, they do not address the issue of aviation growth.
