Local vs. regional factors as determinants of the invasibility of indigenous forest fragments by alien plant species
Article Abstract:
The factors important in explaining invisibility, measured as alien species richness are inferred, using plot data from fragments of indigenous forests in southern New Zealand. It is concluded that of the variables included in the analysis from the forest fragment investigated, regional land cover and climate variables are potentially important drivers for alien species richness at plot level.

Why ecology fails at application: should we consider variability more than regularity?
Article Abstract:
The inability to solve applied ecological problems is discussed. There is a potential for establishment of possible common responses in population and community dynamics to main environmental gradients with regard to habitat and ecosystems.

The deductive method in community ecology
Article Abstract:
The deductive approach that erects hypothesis and then tests them in community ecology is discussed. What happens in community ecology is presented by giving four examples.
