On misinterpretations of pseudoreplication and related matters: a reply to Oksanen
Article Abstract:
Key points and complaints in L. Oksanen's critique published in 2001 regarding the term and concept of psuedoreplication and the misconceptions of pseudoreplications are discussed. OksanenEs critique could be based on misconceptions regarding psuedoreplication, and the lack of awareness regarding the literature on psuedoreplication is described.

Comment to Oksanen (2001): reconciling Oksanen (2001) and Hurlbert (1984)
Article Abstract:
The seminal papers of Hurlbert (1984) and Oksanen (2001) are reviewed. An effort is made for reconciliation of the viewpoints of both authors, about the implications of pseudoreplication on how to conduct valid experiments, while working with and experimenting on large systems.

Does the Fretwell-Oksanen model apply to invertebrates?
Article Abstract:
The papers reporting experimental data on the influence of phytophagous insects or mollusks on terrestrial plant communities are reviewed. Their analysis supports the theory that the Fretwell-Oksanen model applies to vertebrate herbivores and not invertebrates.
