Partitioning the effects of algal species identity and richness on benthic marine primary production
Article Abstract:
One field and one mesocosm experiment is conducted to quantify the relative effects of macroalgal species identity and richness on primary production in coral reef macroalgal species identity and richness on primary production in coral reef macroalgal communities off the north coast of Jamaica. The results have demonstrated that the counteracting influence of component effects can diminish the net richness effects on production.

Accumulation of local pathogens: A new hypothesis to explain exotic plant invasions
Article Abstract:
The role of plant-soil community interactions in the succession of Ammophilia arenaria in its native range (North-western Europe) is analyzed. It is showed that how plant-soil community interactions could enforce marked shifts in plant competition, leading to a new hypothesis on plant-soil community interactions in areas invaded by exotic plant species.

Landscape-scale patterns of biological invasions in shoreline plant communities
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to assess the landscape-scale patterns of biological invasions in shoreline plant communities. The results did not support several fundamental predictions of invasion biology.
