Release dynamic process identification for a cement based material in various leaching conditions. Part II. Modelling the release dynamics for different leaching conditions
Article Abstract:
The findings of four different dynamic leaching tests are applied considering different types of solid and liquid contact conditions relating to various real leaching scenarios including monolithic and granular material with sequential eluate renewal. The two specific phenomena identified are, the early surface dissolution of the material that results in high Ca concentration and the late weak dissolution of Na and K giving rise to a long - term residual release.

Release dynamic process identification for a cement based material in various leaching conditions. Part I. Influence of leaching conditions on the release amount
Article Abstract:
A study investigates at laboratory scale the influence of the liquid and solid leaching conditions on the release of different chemical species from a reference porous material obtained by solidification of PbO and CdO with Portland cement. The results related to the consequences of eluate saturation, released flux and cumulative released mass are discussed in detail.

Leaching characteristics of solid wastes from thermal power plants of western Turkey and comparison of toxicity methodologies
Article Abstract:
Fly and bottom ash samples obtained from thermal power plants, namely Yenikoy, Kemerkoy and Yatagan, located at the southwestern coast in Turkey are studied. Relative mass leached (RML) method was found to be a better procedure to predict subsurface contamination.
