Should I stay or should I go? Patch departure decisions by herbivores at multiple scales
Article Abstract:
Evidence for successfully predicting and quantifying patch departure decision for large mammalian herbivores, foraging across several spatial and temporal scales is examined. Studies of departure decision strategies at fine scales are influenced by tradeoffs between maximizing intake rate and food quality, where classical models for departure decisions at large spatial scales particularly the marginal value theorem appear inadequate.

Scale as modifier in vegetation diversity experiments: effects on herbivores and predators
Article Abstract:
The role of experimental scale in field trials exploring the role of habitat diversifications on herbivore and predator abundance is described. The effects of diversification vary widely as a function of the spatial scale of vegetation plots.
