The costs and benefits of a migratory species under different management schemes
Article Abstract:
The different ways, in which different management schemes influence the exploitation and economics of a wildlife population, the moose that is both a value and a pest are analyzed. Two regimes, the unified management scheme where the wildlife manager aims to find harvesting quotas that maximize the overall benefit of the moose population, and the market solution where the landowners follow their narrow self-interests and maximize their private profit, are explored.

Emergy-based environmental systems asessment of a multi-purpose temperate mixed-forest watershed of the southern Appalachian Mountains, USA
Article Abstract:
The balance between nature and humanity and the equity among forest outcomes of a US Forest Service ecosystem management demonstration project on the Wine Spring Creek watershed is analyzed using an emergy synthesis.
