Watershed associations in West Virginia: their impact on environmental protection

Article Abstract:

The extent to which the presence of watershed associations explains the variation in protective actions across watersheds is estimated by collecting and verifying the data from over 29 watersheds in West Virginia. It has been shown that the presence of watershed associations has positive impacts in the number of watershed protection activities, and that the ability of communities to obtain funding and to implement watershed protection action is enhanced.
