The problems associated with sensitive skin have finally been addressed by mainstream beauty companies. Clinically sensitive skin afflicts about 15% of women, though a much higher percentage claim to have it. New products are being made without emulsifiers, which tend to break down skin tissues.

Winter can damage the skin more than summer can because the air can be more dry and harmful sun rays can be reflected off of snow. The most prevalent moisturizers replace the skin's lipids, which, when lost, promote dry skin. Various products are discussed.
