Relining a relic
Article Abstract:
Boston has signed an $8-million contract to rehabilitate some of the city's more than 100-year-old water pipelines. Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) officials have tapped engineering firm Black & Veatch to study possible replacement and rehabilitation alternatives. The improvements would be done on the MWRA's Boston Low Service network, which was installed between 1848 and 1908.
