Issues concerning the concepts of designing garments with slits in the sleeves are presented, with reference made to clothing from the 1500s. Information is included on a variety of different sleeve designs, all of which can be found in Francois Boucher's book - 20,000 years of fashion.

Getting better on the bias
Article Abstract:
The flow and drape of clothes are determined by the method of cutting fabrics along the bias grain. This is demonstrated with the use of a two-seam bias-skirt pattern and a choice of preferred fabrics, such as silk charmeuse, washed silk and silk faille.
