Auction index drops 3 percent in third quarter
Article Abstract:
The Wine Spectator auction index fell three points during the 3rd qtr of 1998. The falling prices of wine was in part due to the dramatic stock market during this period. Prices tended to be stronger in the United States than they were in other countries. Some wines may have been overexposed to the public and the variations in price are to be expected.
