The Californian restaurant Chez Panisse is profiled, with focus on the restaurant's daily ad-hoc menus. The food and several recipes are presented, and particular attention is given to the choice of wine for each dish. The culinary style of the restaurant's owner Alice Waters is described.

Michelin slaps San Francisco around
Article Abstract:
Michelin's 2007 Red Guide for hotels and restaurants in and around San Francisco and the Bay Area has upset the people of San Francisco since none of the restaurants from the city had received three stars. Locals of San Francisco would prefer to ignore the Michelin ratings and rely on local published recommendations, word of mouth and personal experience, much like the response of New Yorkers.

California Grill draws the crowds at Vinexpo with its flavorful cuisine

The California Grill was among the most popular restaurants that joined the Vinexpo 1995 in Bordeaux, France. Visitors, including leading French chefs, enjoyed the cuisine which included roasted salmon, potatoes and baked peaches.
