Heated bidding at summer auctions
Article Abstract:
Results of wine auctions held in June and July are presented. Competition over older vintages drove bids above estimates, with an extremely rare case of Chateau Mouton-Rothschild 1944 going for $11,380. A 9-bottle lot of Inglenook Cabernet Sauvignon landed a world-record price of $58,600.

Morrell & Co. ups estimates to reflect hot auction market

Morrell & Co Sep 21, 1996, wine auction in New York grossed $670,390. Numerous great values were available to bidders, including a 1988 Chateau L'Arrosee at $299 per case and a 1991 Ridge Zinfandel Lytton Springs at $345 a case.
