Koiwai Nyugyo's new milk tea has a refrigerated shelf life of 10 days at a temperature of below 10[degree sign]C. This tea, with a translated name of Koiwai Fonte Milk Tea, comes in a 200 ml tall cup. It uses a special blend of Uva, Dimbula, and Ceylon high grown black leaf tea, which is extracted with milk instead of boiling water. Priced at [yen] 150, this drink has a high milk content and less added sweetener.

Morinaga Milk Industries has introduced Lipton Apple Tea, a balanced blend of apple juice and black tea, priced at [yen] 140 for a 500 polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle. The apple juice used in this drink comes from apples which are grown in the Amori prefecture of Japan, and the leaf black tea comes entirely from Sri Lanka.
