Legendary La Tache
Article Abstract:
Domaine de la Romanee-Conti La Tache Pinot Noir is considered by many to be a legendary wine. It is true that it has had many exquisite vintages, but like all Burgundies, it is vulnerable to bad weather and other adverse conditions. In a vertical tasting of vintages from 1945 to 1995, the '71 and '78 rated 99 on the 100-point scale, and the '45, '47 and '49 all rated 97. The best-scoring recent vintage was '95, with a score of 95.
