The tale of Luca d'Attoma's, a rugby player, initiation into wine when he drank a full glass of Marsala stravecchio is described. D'Attoma bought the estate in partnership with his companion, Elena Celli and Roberto Cristofororetti and wanted to monitor the entire winemaking process from vineyard to bottling process.

Italy's top wineries lead olive oil trend

Many fine Italian winemakers are concentrating on producing extra-virgin olive oil. Bottles of the best olive oil sell for over $20 a bottle. Extra-virgin is less acidic that other oils. Olive oil from Tuscany is very aromatic and flavorful.
