Renowned Napa Valley vintner Louis Peter Martini died on Sep 21, 1998. The 79-year-old chman and winemaker for the Louis M Martini Winery died of cancer. Martini, who learned winemaking from his father, was known for his innovations in Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and other wine varieties.
