Syrah shines in southern France: Two contrasting vintages provide plenty of flavors from Languedoc and Roussillon
Article Abstract:
An extensive tasting of wines from southern France is undertaken in order to assess the quality of wines made in the region. The southern France regions of Languedoc and Roussillon, which are establishing themselves as prominent producers of Syrah-based reds with opulent fruit flavors and spice elements are toured and details are presented of the wineries, soil and climatic conditions and winemakers in the region.
