Weibel Vineyards files for bankruptcy

Weibel has filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in order to avoid foreclosure on its Mission San Jose winery and Mendocino County vineyards. Weibel developed financial problems when a real estate developer failed to complete a transaction.

Peter Michael quietly builds its reputation

This Sonoma County, CA, winery is producing limited quantities of very good Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. The 600-acre winery, owned by Peter Michael, in the Knight's Valley area produced about 3,000 cases this year.

John Parducci ousted as manager of Mendocino winery
Article Abstract:
Parducci and his son, Bill, were fired in an acrimonious dispute with Teachers Management and Investment Co, which is the winery's general partner. The Parducci family has operated the winery since the 1920s.
