Where Clos Du Val went wrong
Article Abstract:
Frenchman Bernard Portet founded Clos Du Val in Napa Valley in 1970 and made excellent wine into the 1980s, but the quality has diminished. The winery only made Merlot and Cabernet at first, but then it began producing other wines and larger quantities.
