1988, 1989, and 1990 Bordeaux vintages are excellent, each for different reasons. 1988 was a dry year, but summer temperatures were moderate. 1989 was nearly a textbook case for perfect viticulture. 1990 saw the vine buds boosting later than in the previous year.
