California Sauvignon Blanc: a Cinderella story

Sauvignon Blanc was not particularly good until recently. The French grape was imported to California, and the wines were bland. This has changed, and vintners are finally making some excellent wines. Robert Mondavi was instrumental in helping these gain acceptance.
