Potatoes are one of the best all-around foods. They are rich in complex starches, vitamins C and B6 and have a good amount of potassium. Moreover, they are available all year and can be cooked in a variety of ways. Low-fat versions of favorite recipes for potatoes are described.

Chili peppers are very high in vitamin A and C, and have been used to treat bronchial congestion, blood clots and other diseases. The ingredient capsaicin is what causes the heat of chili pepper. Four recipes are given including chilled marinated shrimp soup.

Skewering the shrimp myth

Shrimp is delicious and has almost no fat content. Recipes are given for fiery skewered shrimp, shrimp and corn pilaf, seared shrimp with warm new potato salad and pasta with shrimp, tomatoes and arugula.
