A brief history of cake making in the US since 1800 is discussed. Seven classic cake recipes are presented for chocolate decadence, fresh coconut, Gramercy Tavern gingerbread, sunshine with citrus buttercream, angel food, Nana Edie's devil's food, and pineapple upside-down cakes.
