The tea ceremony

Afternoon teas have traditionally been occasions for celebrating the birth of a child, wedding engagements and the return of honeymooners. The tea is made with loose tea leaves and served with sugar and milk or lemon. Sweets, sandwiches and scones are usually served to accompany the tea.
