Article Abstract:
The changes in the religion, lifestyles, and daily ethics of the Ibatan people, who were totally isolated from modern society until a missionary, Rundell Maree, developed a written language for them in the late 1970s, are analyzed. Now they cope with all of the problems and opportunities of modern capitalism, including satellite TV, and poverty.
