Are social service agencies the enemy of community?
Article Abstract:
Failure of the social service system is seen in the struggle between communities and the agencies for the people's support. Its ineffectiveness and counterproductivity are results of its failure to foster community involvement in its services. Some distinctions of a community are presented.

Why young people hate boomers
Article Abstract:
People from the twentysomething generation tend to dislike the boomers that they meet. The boomers' show of confidence, arrogance and moral superiority rub this younger generation the wrong way. Moreover, boomers often recount history only from their generation's perpective.

Children of the baby boom generation are searching for communities where they can integrate and find a sense of belonging. Their concept of a community, however, is still in question as they define community as something akin to an idealist revival of traditions.
