Belgian women returned flour sacks decorated with fancy stitching to US mills and to Herbert Hoover, then head of the Commission for Relief, as thanks for the flour the US sent during World War I. Some sacks are displayed at the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum in Iowa.
