The recruitment campaign of the American Legion achieved a tremendous success for the year 1992. An invitation to an awarding ceremony and cash prizes served as incentives for departments nationwide. The department of Kansas and Delaware received the award for first place.

The National Affairs Division of the American Legion believes Posts should be revitalized in order to better serve veterans and their families. Membership recruiter Jim Fiedler has assisted in revitalizing seven Posts and has signed 146 new members.

The American Legion is not exclusively for retired war veterans. Servicepeople in active duty are eligible for membership and are entitled to all the benefits from moral support to protection of veteran rights.
