Snyder's three-year term as head of Golden Books has been nothing short of disastrous. Since taking over as chairman and CEO in May 1996, Snyder has brought the mass-market children's publisher to the verge of bankruptcy. Golden's predicament has been blamed on Snyder's profligate empire-building.
