Doctors and profits: are the new money-making schemes compromising your care?
Article Abstract:
Patients must watch out for signs that their doctors are after more than providing genuine medical care. As doctors were forced into taking a pay cut after the implementation of some managed-care policies, some have begun to adopt practices that may just compromise the quality of medical care that they provide their patients. Three such practices are discussed.
