Hilltop Farm in Sterling, CT, is a 12.5-acre farm where popular American Revolutionary figures such as George Washington and Rochambeau once stayed. The historical farm is one of the 12 existing 18th-century homes that comprise the Sterling Hill. The place served as encampments to French troops during the American Revolution.

Woman's Home Companion magazine ran a series of Better Babies Contests in 1913 and 1913 in an effort to promote infant health and hygiene. Babies were judged using a variety of physiological criteria, and winners received trophies and between $10 and $100 in gold.
