Article Abstract:
Issues concerning ways in which women in their twenties and thirties are pursuing their dreams are discussed. Several cases of women working hard and overcoming obstacles in order to achieve their dreams are described. It is emphasized that pursuing a dream is creating a social identity.

Issues relating to the number of hours worked are discussed. Research has identified that 64% of people wish to work fewer hours each week, which is attributed to a re-evaluation of working vs personal lives, possibly inspired by the weekend recreational ethic of President Bush.
