Article Abstract:
The nursing profession has come a long way ever since Florence Nightingale demanded for changes to improve the then backward technics in hospital treatments. Other women nurses followed Nightingale's example and until today they are continually finding new ways to enhance care and treatment.

Health care for less: physician's assistants could meet some health care needs
Article Abstract:
Reports show that health care could just as well be administered by alternative caregivers such as nurse practitioners (NP) and physician's assistants (PA) as by certified physicians. Moreover, treatments made by these NPs and PA's can cost a lot less.

Caring means curing: an expanded role for nurses would bring healthy results to our medical system

The curing by doctors must be accompanied by the caring of nurses if sick people are to successfully overcome their physical ailments. The nurses' role must then be acknowledged and given proper attention in the planning for health care programs.
