Krisxan Pappas and Kim Carpenter were married in Scottsdale, AR, on Sep. 18, 1993. When an accident damaged Pappas' brain 10 weeks later, Carpenter had to court his wife again to make her remember. Since Pappas lost her memory of their first wedding, they married a second time on May 25, 1996.

Encounter with a desert killer

An 11-month-old child was stung by a bark scorpion during a visit to his parents' friends in Mexico. Through an antivenin program where the scorpions' venom is collected, freeze-dried and injected into goats, a doctor was able to save the child's life.
